Why Argentina?

Mining

Argentina’s mining sector is entering a new phase of growth. With several large projects moving towards construction and production, demand for advanced mining technologies, equipment and services is expected to grow significantly. Mining exports reached more than 5.36 billion US dollars during the first seven months of 2026, representing growth of nearly 70 percent compared to the same period last year. Lithium exports have almost tripled, and a number of large-scale copper projects are moving steadily towards implementation.

Mining and minerals have long played an important role in Finland's economy and industrial development. While Finland's mineral resource base is modest compared to Argentina's vast geological potential, Finland has built a globally recognized mining ecosystem based on technology, innovation and responsibility which creates a natural complementarity between the two countries.
What makes Argentina particularly attractive today is that many of its upcoming projects are being designed for the future, not for the past.

New mines require new technologies and efficient use of water and energy. They also require advanced process control, automation, connectivity and solutions that improve productivity while reducing environmental impact.

At the same time, Argentina is undergoing significant economic reforms aimed at improving competitiveness, attracting investment and creating greater predictability for business. A more investment-friendly economic environment, the RIGI investment incentive regime and a growing pipeline of major lithium, copper, gold and silver projects are attracting international investors.

Projects such as Vicuña, Los Azules, Taca Taca, El Pachón and MARA demonstrate both the scale of Argentina's mineral resources and the confidence international investors have in the country's future. Together, these developments are positioning Argentina as one of the world's most dynamic mining destinations for the coming decade.
