Law reform in Russia

Rule of law reform in Russia. What went wrong and what can be learned?

Speaker: Fredrik Ringquist

Panel discussion

This panel will examine the outcomes of rule-of-law reform efforts in Russia from the 1990s onward, including why they did not result in a durable rule-of-law environment, despite periods of institutional modernization, deep global trade integration, and the active involvement of many Russian lawyers in international legal communities (including the international arbitration community). It will also consider lessons for future rule-of-law initiatives in Russia and elsewhere.
