How to survive grant proposals?

This 1.5 hour interactive training session, targeted at Early Career Researchers (PhD - early career postdoctoral researchers), will cover the basics of research grant proposals;
what they are and why they matter to you whether you stay in or move out of academia,
provide an overview of an example basic grant structure and terminology,
walk through some general examples of current funding bodies which are relevant for ECRs.

This training is delivered by Carly Lynsdale, an evolutionary ecologist by training who worked as a researcher in the UK and Finland for 10+ years, and who has direct experience of winning (and, as is the norm, substantially much more experience of applying and not-winning) academic grants. Carly is from the UK, but still lives in Finland and works for Tampere University as a Specialist Grant Writer.
