Outstanding Young Leader 2022
JCI Finland has been organizing the Outstanding Young Leader competition since 2007. Last year the winner was Anu Ubaud, Chief Editor of Helsingin Sanomat. The competition is open for all leaders under the age of 40 who are working as a role model and are responsible leaders.
The goal of the Outstanding Young Leader competition:
- To promote young skillful leaders
- To encourage young people to apply for leadership roles and to develop as leaders
- To answer today's leadership challenges by giving examples and role models for the leaders of tomorrow about creating a happy and safe work environment where people actively lead to make results in sustainable way
Who can be a candidate?
Anyone can announce a candidate to the Outstanding Young Leader competition. In this competition candidates should be leaders at the age of 18-40. The candidate can turn 40 this year (born 1982). The candidate must work at a responsible leadership/management role. The competition organiser contacts the candidates to make sure if they want to be a candidate in the competition.The proposer does not need to check it.
The following qualities are valued at this competition:
- Demanding problem solving
- Critical thinking
- People leadership skills
- Emotional intelligence
Criticism and decision making skills
- Negotiation skills
The proposal of candidates is open 1.9.-30.9.2022. Pre-evaluation will happen after the proposal time has ended. The winner will be selected by a professional jury. The members of the jury are leadership professionals from the competition's partner companies. The winner will get the title Outstanding Young Leader 2022. The winner will be announced October 19th in Turku..
