Ensure your market success with Agile Hardware development

Nitor and Scaled Agile invite you to a free half-day event in Stockholm, Berns.
on February 23rd, 08:30-12:30 CET.

Agile ways of working have been known for their benefits to software development for years. Now, we have seen how agile brings value regardless of the sector. As Agile adoption extends beyond software, hardware development needs to keep pace. Although the hardware community is relatively new to Agile, Lean-Agile values and principles are universal. They can be used to guide hardware engineers to create and adopt their own best practices.

Join our free half-day event to hear what Agile in Hardware means in practice and how it impacts businesses that rely heavily on hardware.

In this event, you’ll hear directly from the developer of agile in hardware methods, Harry Koehnemann, and the forerunners in agile hardware: Wärtsilä and X5 Cariad, who will share their journeys to implementing agile methodologies in environments that include both software and hardware development.

Key topics of the day:
How to enable business agility with hardware
How to organise around value in hardware
How to move from siloed work toward collaborative work
How to embrace variability and preserve options
How to build incrementally and integrate frequently

Target audience:
Product owners of end products
SVPs, VPs of business lines
Program managers
Current experts in HW development

We offer a morning fika and light lunch during the day.

We hope to see you there!

Please note: The event is free of charge, but we will charge a "no-show-fee" of €30 for those enrolling but not showing up. This is for sustainability reasons and to minimize waste of food/coffee etc.

Best regards,
Nitor and Scaled Agile

Sneak peek of the speakers:

Tobias Krook, Wärtsilä

Tobias Krook is a Project Manager within new product development at Wärtsilä. Leading a project developing an internal combustion engine that is to meet future fuels requirements in a rapidly changing market environment. Principles from Agile has helped us to shorten the lead time to market as well as finding the right product to meet the requirements.

Henna Torkkola, Wärtsilä

Henna Torkkola is an Agile Coach at Wärtsilä’s Future Fuels and Decarbonisation business unit. She has worked in Wärtsilä’s agile transformation and witnessed how an agile approach has a lot to offer even when the product at hand is a physical hardware one. In her talk, she will share Wärtsilä’s journey and the critical lessons learned from their transformation.

Ms. Torkkola and Tobias Krook will focus on the practical interpretation of the Scaled Agile approach when creating a future-proof engine. She will cover the
following topics:
How to create flexibility during development?
How to secure manufacturability and serviceability?
How to ensure a fast time to market with the correct value proposition?

Harry Koehnemann, Scaled Agile

Harry Koehnemann is a SAFe Fellow and Principal Consultant at Scaled Agile Inc. and has spent the past two decades consulting with organisations in aerospace, defense, automotive, and others to adopt better engineering practices.

Harry’s talk, “When Worlds Collide: Hardware Engineering meets Lean-Agile development”, will show how organisations building hardware-software systems use Agile practices to deliver value significantly faster and with much higher quality than ever before. He will discuss several practices that can help hardware engineers move towards Agile development.

Mario A. Brückner, Lean agile Coach at CARIAD, a Volkswagen Group.

Mario is a speaker, transformation coach, and advisor at New Work Solutions and has worked with CARIAD X5 on their agile transformation. Staying focused and constantly improving an organisation is challenging in today’s complex business environment. In his talk, he will share how CARIAD X5 has become more lean and agile with SAFe® by using the Living Transformation Guide, how an agile transformation has guaranteed real change and the impact the transformation has had on their business.
“Without this approach and its effect on our people, we would never be where we are right now at X5 in CARIAD & SAFe®.”
