Alvar Aalto (1898–1976) is one of the internationally best-known Finnish architects and designers. In Jyväskylä, the city of lakes and hills in the heart of the Finnish Lakeland, you’ll find the largest number of masterful buildings in the whole world designed by this world-famous architect and academician. The Aalto2 Museum Centre is the best place to learn about Alvar Aalto´s life and work

This privately owned, cozy hotel is by the lake Jyväsjärvi and next to the Aalto2 Museum Centre as well as the University campus area. The unique panoramic view restaurant offers a three-course lunch menu from local ingredients.

Experience real Finnish smoke sauna! Make a journey to the sauna history. We will promise that you will become a smoke sauna enthusiast or even a semi-professional after spending a day in Saunakylä. Try out about 4-5 different kind of smoke saunas to find your favorite kind. Mixed gender in saunas, so we use swimsuits. Possibility to swim in lake Päijänne and shower under the sky in traditional Finnish way.

21:00 Sauna evening at the Himos Holiday Sauna Yard
Himos Sauna Yard is a treasure box for sauna enthusiast. Here you have a chance to bathe in the whole generation-line of saunas: in a traditional smoke sauna, lakeside sauna with an electric stove, a wood-heated barrel sauna and in Kirami’s FinnVision landscape sauna representing the modern, visual Finnish sauna design. Of course, the experience is crowned by two jacuzzis and a wood-burning hot-tub, terrace facilities and barbecue shelters.
