Schooner Helena's weekend sailing in the Turku Archipelago, from September 29th to October 1st, 2023

On this leg, you'll have the opportunity to admire the autumn colors of the Turku Archipelago and the approaching fall. If the sky is clear, it's possible to observe the autumn night sky away from city lights.
When you come along, you're never just a passenger, but a full-fledged crew member who participates in all sailing tasks, from deck work and sailing maneuvers to maintenance tasks, cleaning and cooking. All tasks are guided, and you don't have to be solely responsible for anything.
Sailing is done according to watch shifts, where tasks and "shifts" vary and roll throughout the day. If you want an experience that combines winning yourself, sharing incredible experiences with new people and all aspects of sailing, you are warmly welcome to join us - you will surely have a great time!
The price includes full maintenance during sailing, equipment (sailing jacket and -overall, lifejackets and safety line), a program and professional guidance for all everyday tasks of the sailing ship according to the sail training principle.
The price does not include trips to or from the ports, insurance, corona tests or certificates or other possible official fees, or sightseeing tours / other independent programs in the ports. Please read the booking and cancellation policy carefully before booking.
Is this sailing suitable for a first-timer/ is this sailing challenging enough for an experienced sailor?
The "ease" or "challenge" of sailing consists of many factors: weather conditions, leg length, group size and composition, personal hopes and fears – just to name a few.
As a rule, all our sailings should be treated as an adventure and all our sailings are suitable regardless of the sailing experience. We argue that with each sailing, everyone learns something new either about sailing, about ships, about seamanskills, about themselves, about their own borders, about other people. Practically all of our sailings involve both first-timers or sailors with just a little experience as well as more experienced sailors.
Weather conditions are a big factor in how the challenging nature of sailing is perceived. However, there are big personal differences here: one finds archipelago sailing in home waters challenging when sailing in summer against the wind, and the other is totally ok and functional in the harshest autumn winds on the high seas. If you are wondering a lot about the "challenging nature" of sailing, you should call the office and tell about your own starting point in more detail.
When should I arrive and departure to and from boat?
You can arrive on board from 3 pm to 4 pm on the first day but no later than 5 pm. The leg end on the announced last day at 5 pm.
When and how is sailing paid?
The sailing is invoiced by e-mail approximately 14 days before the sailing. The due date for the invoice is the first sailing day. This means that nothing is paid at the time of booking. Please note that registration for the sailing trip is, however, binding.
