The participant knows how to use the animation tools that the Unreal Engine provides. Participant also learns how to make use of animations that are brought into the game engine and knows how to combine them in to more extensive, working entities, using the combined power of animation editor and programming.
We go through all the basics menus and settings that are part of the animation editor and learn how they can be used. We learn how the skeleton model (Skeletal Mesh) can be edited and how animations can be used and modified on the fly using programming. After the basics, more advanced stuff is introduced: Blend Spaces and Aim Offset are used to blend animations dynamically together, allowing us to create realistic and lifelike animations.
The material course provides and Epic Games' documentation.
The course is completed independently by reading the course material and watching tutorial videos. The participants are given small practice assignments during the course: Solution can be viewed from video or read from the document. The course can be completed at own pace and all participants can discuss different topics with each other using the platform offered.
