This autumn, Chappe opens the exhibition Forest Creatures, bringing together John Bauer’s fairytale-inspired works with interpretations by contemporary artists influenced by folklore.

The series of workshops continues with creative writing instructor Sonja Vuori Hammond, who will guide us in making art using words, inspired by art and fairy tales, Saturday 14.2.2026 at 15.00-17.00.

This workshop is geared towards children.

Let your creativity flow freely and let your pen dance on paper! Together, we dive into the world of fairy tales and forest creatures, enjoy art, and use art to awaken our own creativity.  This is a low-threshold writing workshop where you can explore your subconscious, awaken your imagination and write a fairy tale or free-form text with the help of various exercises. The process eventually results in a poem that becomes part of Chappe’s community artwork.

If you wish, you can bring your own notebook, but paper and pens are also available. You can also taker your artwork home.

The workshop is bilingual (Finnish and Swedish) and everyone can write in the language of their choice.

📍Location: Chappe’s lower floor (fully accessible)

💶Price: 5 €, including all materials for children. Payment upon registration. Adults pay entry in Chappe.

🔒Registration is binding. No prior experience needed
