Apply to join the Tampere 2027 World Championships Event Team

The ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2027 will take place in Tampere, Finland, at Nokia Arena from March 15 to 21, 2027. We are now looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join the Tampere 2027 Event Team — a creative group working to plan and build an unforgettable championship experience.

The team collaborates closely with the event organizers, cities, skating clubs, and partners. Its mission is to create and implement engaging side events and experiences that bring together fans, athletes, and stakeholders — turning the World Championships into a truly memorable celebration.

We're looking for creative and imaginative people who are excited to develop new ideas together with others. You don’t need to be a professional in the event industry — what matters most is your enthusiasm to share ideas and shape something new.

What will you get to plan and create as part of the team:

Pre-Events: How can we build excitement before the championship week? What kinds of fan experiences and events could we organize together with clubs, partners, cities, and federations
Core Events: What’s happening in Tampere and at Nokia Arena during the competition week? Fan Zones at Central Square, fan stages, and VIP experiences — how can we turn the whole city into a stage for international figure skating fever?
Commercial & Impact: How do we engage fans and boost visibility on social media? How do we activate commercial partnerships? How do we measure the impact of the event and tell the story to the world?

How will we work?

The first idea & kick-off workshop will take place at the end of November. We aim to meet primarily in person in Helsinki, but remote participation via Teams is also possible.

At first, meetings will be held about once a month, with the schedule becoming more defined as we go.

From 2026 onwards, the team will also help organize local pre-events such as shopping mall activations, mascot visits, and ticket giveaways — building excitement and visibility as we head toward the World Championships in 2027.
