The aim of the symposium is to strengthen research and national collaboration on interventions that may reduce late complications and/or improve quality of life after childhood cancer.
Talks will cover the following topics (preliminary):
Prof Trude Reinfjell Trondheim, Norway, will give a talk on a randomized clinical trial (RCT), exploring Goal Management Training and Brain health workshop. She will also mention interventions directed towards late psychosocial effects.
Prof Klas Blomgren from Karolinska Institute Stockholm will talk about an RCT on lithium treatment to alleviate neurocognitive late effects.
Dr Matthew Hocking, USA, will talk about cognitive late effects and loneliness.
Dr Aron Onerup will talk about health behaviors, how they contribute to late effects and interventions directed towards health behaviors.
Prof Saro Armenian, USA, will talk about late effects in general and future directions for interventions.
Participation is free of charge. The symposium is an in-person event only, with no possibility to attend online, and will be conducted in English.
