DOING BUSINESS THROUGH SME Aisle: business trip to Namibia, South Africa and Zambia in April 2019
The second SME Aisle business trip is organized to Namibia, South Africa and Zambia in 31.3.-12.4.2019. There will be two delegations with separate programs 1) Maritime, shipbuilding, logistics and fishing industry and 2) Renewable energy, ICT and automation.
General optimal travel dates from CB area to Namibia 31.3.2019 (Windhoek, Walvis Bay) or to South Africa (Cape Town) 3.4.2019.
Dates of programme in Namibia Monday 1.4.- Thursday 4.4., in South Africa Friday 5.4- 12.4. and/or 7.4-11.4 in Zambia. The company can participate either 1 or 2 weeks. Travel arrangements are made using travel agencies of SME Aisle partners. Application of visas of companies needing visas will be made centralized by SME Aisle partners.
SME Aisle project’s (http://smarturbanbusiness.samk.fi/smeaisle/) areas for business are shipbuilding, maritime and logistics, renewable energy, automation and ICT through infrastructure, shipbuilding retrofitting, training or expert services. The business trip will consist of business to business events, site visits, seminars and a fair. The program will be tailored to the needs of participating companies.
Small or medium sized companies (http://ec.europa.eu/growth/smes/business-friendly-environment/sme-definition_en) from Central Baltic area (http://centralbaltic.eu/programme-pages/central-baltic-sub-programme) can get financial support to their travel costs (flight tickets, hotel etc.). The financial support for companies is max. 1500 eur, except for Finnish companies travelling second time it is max. 1300 eur.
Travel arrangements related to financial support through SME Aisle partners (Finland: Prizztech Ltd., Estonia: Tallinn Technical University/TalTech/EMERA, Latvia: The Association of Mechanical Engineering and Metalworking Industries of Latvia and Sweden: Satakunta University of Applied Sciences). An official contract for the trip is made between a SME project partner and the company for the travel. Only SME’s meeting state aid rules http://ec.europa.eu/competition/state_aid/overview/index_en.html are eligible for financial support. Basically, the company is eligible if NOT received more than 200 000 € public support during last 3 years.
