Call for applications – Nordic Circular Economy Delegation to Austria, 6-7 May 2026
The Nordic Embassies to Austria invite individuals representing Nordic stakeholders to submit applications of interest to join a Nordic Circular Economy Delegation to Graz planned to coincide with the Circular Economy Summit Austria in May 2026.
Following up on the Austrian-Nordic Circular Futures Conference held in Vienna 20-21 October, the Nordic Embassies to Austria are now launching a joint call for applications to join a Nordic Delegation planned for Graz and the Circular Economy Summit Austria in May 2026. The summit will have "Rethinking Regions" as a theme and the Nordic Region as a partner this year.
In addition to attending the summit—and for some delegates, contributing as speakers or presenters—the delegation programme will feature site visits, academic exchanges, and networking opportunities organized in collaboration with our local partners, Circular Economy Forum Austria and Green Tech Valley. The final programme will be customised to reflect the composition of the delegation and the specific sectoral interests of its participants.
The call for applications is open to all Nordic stakeholders with an interest in the green and circular transition. We are particularly seeking:
- Representatives of Nordic companies offering innovative circular solutions
- Nordic academics specializing in the circular economy
- Representatives of Nordic government bodies – at both state and local level – engaged in circular projects
The delegation programme will take place on 6-7 May 2026, with travel expected on 5 May to ensure timely arrival in Graz.
As the majority of sessions at the Circular Economy Summit Austria will be conducted in German – with only a limited number of panels in English – priority will be given to applicants who are proficient in German and able to deliver presentations in the language.
Funding support from the Nordic Council is available to cover travel expenses (flights, trains, accommodation) for selected delegates. This support will primarily be directed towards representatives from academia, SMEs and start-ups, as well as delegates able to present Nordic perspectives on the summit stages.
Please submit your application using our dedicated questionnaire. While submissions are accepted on a rolling basis, priority will be given to those received by February 20.
