On-site seminar + one-on-one meeting
Advanced Research Infrastructure & Excellent Research
Fredrik Elinder, Professor of Molecular Neurobiology, Linköping University
Nina Ottosson, Doctor and Specialist at the Electrophysiology Unit at Linköping University, SciLifeLab

One-on-one meeting with the unit will be possible in the meeting room Bryggan Thursday 5th 8-17 and Friday 6th 8-12. Take the chance to discuss how your research questions can be answered through analyses of ion channels.

The Electrophysiology unit, a recent addition to SciLifeLab's range of advanced research infrastructures, is equipped with automated patch-clamp instrumentation, and supports a wide range of electrophysiological studies involving both voltage-gated and ligand-gated ion channels, including pharmacological screening, cardiac safety assessments, and biophysical investigations.

Professor Fredrik Elinder is a molecular neurobiologist at Linköping University, internationally recognized for his contributions to the physiology and pharmacology of voltage‑gated ion channels. His research has advanced fundamental understanding of how voltage sensors operate, how ion‑channel gating is regulated, and how small molecules and lipids can modulate channel activity. Elinder’s group investigates mechanisms that control neuronal excitability, including how altered voltage thresholds contribute to disorders such as epilepsy and pain.
