Tech Is Not Just Coding – Software-Driven Finland and How to Find Your Place in It
Finland runs on software. Healthcare, banking, logistics, retail, education, public services — virtually every industry today is shaped by digital systems and the people who build, develop and use them. But working in tech does not mean becoming a developer. This webinar opens up what a software-driven world actually looks like, and what it might mean for you.
We cover four things.
What does software-driven mean? We look at how digital services are built, why companies of all kinds need people with varied backgrounds, and what roles exist beyond programming (service design, user research, project coordination, data, customer success, HR, communications, marketing and more).
Where is the community? We map the key tech and ICT communities in Finland and the Nordics where people gather, learn, support each other and find opportunities. From Mimmit koodaa and Ompeluseura LevelUp Koodaajat to Nordic networks and online spaces, you will leave with a list of places worth exploring.
Where do you start? We talk honestly about first steps: what is worth learning early, what is not urgent, and how to avoid the trap of feeling like you need to know everything before you begin. Baby steps are real steps.
How do people actually learn this stuff? Not only in classrooms, and not only through formal degrees. Learning in the tech world takes many shapes, and most of them are more accessible than you might think
We are also joined by a Milangela Lares from Zalando who will share their own story in tech path.
