Before applying, we recommend you to carefully read the brief describing the summer school.
Time & location
23 August – 1 September 2019, Kastoria and Siatista, Greece
Objectives of the project
Applicants should be (preferably but not exclusively) between 20-30 years of age and have a lively interest in fur. We welcome curious young people with a strong ability of critical thinking and eager to learn the infinite possibilities of fur. Willingness to actively contribute with one’s ideas to the summer school is essential.
We aim to create a group of 20 European participants. In addition, two people from each of the other IFF regions (Americas, Eurasia, and Asia) will be selected.
It is also important to remember – the Fur Summer School is not a design course. It is an educational programme exploring the entire supply chain. We aim to reach a balance of participants with different professional orientation (crafts, business, design, communication, farming, research). The event will be conducted in English; therefore, fluency in English is also a must.
We strive to make the Summer School accessible to everyone. Participants have to pay a € 200 fee and their own transportation cost from and to Thessaloniki. Fur Europe, IFF and Hellenic Fur Federation cover all other expenses including 9 days of accommodation, meals, transport during the event and educational materials. Participation fee should be paid to Fur Europe’s account by 15 June 2019.
The applications need to be completed by 20 May 2019. Please contact Adam Gono from Fur Europe via firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions and need further clarifications. Successful applicants will be contacted by 8 June 2019.
Candidates are required to upload a CV of a maximum of 2 pages and an example of personal achievement (e.g. portfolio, thesis, article, photos…).
