Networking and Sales Event for Eastern Finland Tourism Companies and Regions in Edinburgh and  Manchester

The tourism industry in Eastern Finland is receiving a boost through a growth programme that supports sustainable international tourism. The programme activities are targeted for the SMEs in the tourism sector located in Eastern Finland that are seeking growth in international markets and meet Visit Finland’s internationalisation criteria. The programme is implemented in the regions of Kainuu, North Savo, South Savo, North Karelia, South Karelia and Kymenlaakso.

As part of the Eastern Finland Sustainable Tourism Growth Programme, Visit Finland is organising a sales tour in the United Kingdom for tourism companies in the region and regional organisations, in Edinburgh on 1 December 2026 and in Manchester on 2 December 2026. 

During the breakfast events, participating sellers will have the opportunity to meet approx. 15 buyers from the UK in 1-to-1 sales meetings and during open networking. The buyers are tour operators and travel agencies selling leisure trips. A maximum of 10 sellers can participate.
 

 
The UK sales tour can be combined with the Hamburg sales event on
3 December 2026

IMPORTANT! Pre-registration is open until 31.8.2026, after which Visit Finland will make the partner selection. The following is considered in the partner selection: 

  • That the product offering is versatile and meets the market demand. 
  • The balance of continuity and renewal in the sales events, so that Visit Finland sales events and Finland’s travel product offering remain appealing for the buyers also in the long run. 
  • Visit Finland’s strategic objectives, such as sustainable growth, as well as market specific objectives are met in the sales events.
  • That the participating company/destination has a sufficient capacity and/or growth vision for international sales.

Preliminary schedule for the day, to be specified for confirmed participants closer to the event:

  • 8:30–9:00 Arrival
  • 9:00–9:30 Opening remarks, Visit Finland and tourism regions
  • 9:30–11:00 1-to-1 sales meeting
  • 11:00–11:30 Free networking time and closing words
The practical arrangements for the sales event are handled by Nordic Marketing and Nordic Travel Solutions, coordinated by Visit Finland.
