Multispecies care (October 28, 13–15 CET)
Over the past four years, the COEVOLVERS project, funded by Horizon Europe, has developed a novel perspective on Nature-based Solutions (NBS) to unlock their potential for inclusive and transformative change.
We are pleased to invite our colleagues, researchers, policymakers, and decision- makers to participate in a series of engaging online symposia that explore and discuss this approach in greater depth and advance our understanding and application of Nature-based Solutions beyond the current state of the art.
Multispecies care embodies the principles of environmental ethics applied in both individual and community actions. This symposium aims to explore the complex dimensions of care within multispecies contexts, focusing on aesthetics, ethics, design, and the implementation of nature-based solutions.
The third symposium addresses Multispecies Care:
- Opening and introduction to the theme, research professor Juha Hiedanpää
- Coevolutionary approach to multispecies care, professor Carsten Herrmann-Pillath
- Caring relationships in controlled grazing for wildfire mitigation: community, shepherd and animals, head of group Elena Górriz Mifsud
- Towards multispecies stewardship: experiences and examples from the COEVOLVERS living labs, senior social scientist Leanne Townsend
Discussions will be opened by the assistant professor at UNIPD, Angela Moriggi. Participants are encouraged to join the reflections with their experiences and perspectives on the topic.
Participation is free of charge.
