Call for applications to Specialized ERU Technical Training, 23.-26.04.26, Tampere
Specialized ERU Technical training prepares delegates for the future mission as a camp or hospital technician and provides a wide picture of relevant duties. In a medical ERU, the technical duties are very versatile. Specialized ERU technical training consists of a wide array of topics and is divided into separate modules:
- Waste management, heating, cooling and selected medical equipment
- Water treatment and storage, Avant-multipurpose tractor, generators and electrical network
In 2026, the Specialized ERU Technical Training consists of the first module: Waste management, heating, cooling, and selected medical equipment.

Participants
The Specialized ERU Technical Training is targeted for Finnish Red Cross delegates with profiles suitable for assuming technical roles in ERU missions. Priority will be given to technical delegates. Other highly motivated and technically oriented applicants can be accepted if there are available seats.
It is highly recommended to complete the ERU Induction Training before attending the Specialized ERU Technical Training.
Contents
The training will focus on the following topics:
- Most common tent models
- Air Conditioner for tents
- Heater for tents
- Waste management
- Incinerators
- Portable toilet and vacuum pump
- Setting up and maintenance of
- Digital Xray equipment
- Autoclaves
- OT table
- OT lamp
- other selected medical equipment
Timing and Venue
The training will start on Thursday 23.04.2026 at 10 am and finish on Sunday 26.04.2026 latest at 3 pm. Please note that active participation and full attendance is expected from all training participants throughout the training.
The training will take place in Finnish Red Cross Logistics Center Kalkku, Kalkun kehätie 4, 33330, Tampere. Accommodation will be organized in shared rooms at Lempiäniemi Camp Center (Perttulanlahdentie 6, 34130 Ylinen).
Participation Fee
The course participation fee is 80 €. Finnish Red Cross members may deduct 20 € from the fee. The participation fee will contribute to covering the training materials, accommodation and meals.
You will be requested to pay the fee if you are accepted to the training. In case you wish to cancel your participation in the training later than five working days before the start of the training, we will consider your participation fee as a contribution to the Finnish Red Cross International Aid.

The training is open for applications until Sunday 01.02.2026. Please make sure your REST profile and English CV is up to date.
The training applicants will be informed of the selection results by Friday 06.02.2026.
