The Finnish Centre of Expertise in Comprehensive Crisis Management welcomes you to apply for the Integrated Peace Operations Course (IPC) course to be held in Kuopio, Finland, 6-12 June 2020.
The overall objective of the course is to enhance the students' knowledge and understanding of the United Nations integrated approach. Furthermore, the course aims to enhance collaboration and coordination among the different actors, namely military, police and civilian peacekeepers, as well as humanitarian and development aid actors. The course will use specific tasks to reflect on the integrated approach in practical terms: Protection of Civilians (POC), Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration (DDR) and Security Sector Reform (SSR).
Applicants should be preferably senior level military, police and civilians currently working in, or looking to work in, mission areas. Applicants particularly interested in enhancing cooperation and collaboration between different actors in peace operations and peacebuilding are encouraged to apply. Applicants must understand, speak and write English at working level.
