Women, Peace and Security at 25 – Learning from Achievements, Responding to Challenges

We warmly invite you to join us in marking the 25th anniversary of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 at our event Women, Peace and Security at 25 – Learning from Achievements, Responding to Challenges. This anniversary event is jointly organised by the Finnish Women, Peace and Security Network, Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, CMC Finland and Finnish Council for Gender Equality (Tane)

The event will bring together national and international experts, decision-makers, and civil society representatives to reflect on how the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda can be advanced in today’s complex and rapidly changing security environment. We are also honoured to welcome speakers from, among others, Ukraine and Afghanistan. The aim is not only to celebrate achievements, but also to critically assess current challenges and explore concrete solutions to accelerate progress.

The event will be composed of two parts, of which the first in English and the second in Finnish. You may sign up to one or both of them. The event will be streamed and it will be moderated by Katri Makkonen. The link to follow the stream will be sent later on.
