The working groups are open to companies, education and research organizations, and industry interest groups. The aim for the working groups is to act as platforms for joint research, development and innovation projects.
FINLAND–MAINE: Advanced Wood Construction Working Group
The purpose of this working group is to facilitate collaboration and innovation exchanges towards the expansion of wood construction. The working group will help identify joint projects for actors in Maine and Finland and take advantage of the new momentum in wood construction in the U.S. and globally.
FINLAND–MAINE: Bioeconomy Working Group
The purpose of this working group is to facilitate collaboration and innovation exchanges in various sectors of the sustainable forest bioeconomy, including effective usage of biomasses and circular bioeconomy. This working group will facilitate joint projects between Maine and Finland to promote sustainable bioeconomy solutions in the U.S. and globally.
FINLAND–MICHIGAN: Bio- and circular economy working group
The Working Group activities will include the following: Lengthening Michigan’s forest bioeconomy value chain, mitigating climate change and advancing green sustainable growth. Finland’s success is based on a deep understanding of the entire bioproduct value chain, world-class experimental research, integration of cross disciplinary sciences and “open access” pilots and demonstration platforms.
