Day 1
- Arrival in Portland in morning/noon
- Visit to The Ecology School (Saco) for a campus tour and to learn about their use of CLT and other wood products to meet Living Building Requirements (LBC) standards
- Dinner and overnight in Portland
Day 2
- Tour Hancock white pine mill (Casco)
- Orientation to Maine forestry w/Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry’s Maine Forest Service and Bureau of Parks and Lands staff
- Roundtable lunch discussion with Maine Forest Products Council, Maine Woodland Owners, Maine International Trade Center
- Tour Maine Woodland Owner’s Chandler white pine woodlot (New Gloucester)
- Dinner and overnight in Portland
Day 3
- Tour out of Augusta through Maine’s Western Mountains region focusing on mixed forests; Bigelow Preserve; SAPPI mill tour (Fairfield)
- Roundtable lunch at Bolton Hill and climate resilience discussion with University of Maine, Maine Climate Council Natural & Working Lands work group chairs, Forest Carbon Task Force members, and Maine Forest Service staff
- Presentations by CEOs of Whole Trees and/or Tanbark
- Dinner and overnight in Portland
Day 4
- Either Austin Cary woodlot (Harpswell; Barrie Brusila) or Holt Forest (Arrowsic; Maine TREE Foundation) for presentation on wildlife management in woodlands
- Oceanside lunch in Harpswell (The Dolphin) or Arrowsic (The Osprey)
- CLT buildings tour in Brunswick and/or Portland
- Departure from Portland in the evening
