The study path (10 cr) is suitable for those who aim to get a Master of Engineering degree. You can enrol to study path of Master's Degree in Energy Engineering if you have completed Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or another appropriate Bachelor's/Master's Degree.
The focus of the Master Degree Programme in Energy Engineering is to educate professionals in engineering and business management in the field of international energy engineering projects. The aim of the programme is to create highly skilled specialists for the following fields of expertise: managing international technology projects and supply chains, developing advanced energy production systems, intercultural communication and language skills, and specialized themes in engineering.
Objectives and content
The aim of study path is to complete at least 10 credits in the Master Degree Programme of Energy Engineering. The study path (10 cr) consists of advances professional studies and optional studies. You will find more information about the contents of the studies here.
After having completed your study paths (10 cr), you can apply for a degree student status (see more
). In addition, you must have at least three years of work experience (after 1.8.2020 two years' work experience is enough) from the field of your Bachelor's/Master's Degree.
Mode of teaching and methods
Part time/multiform studies: some days of contact teaching per semester. Pedagogical principles of studies are contextuality and active, self guided and co-operative learning. The student builds up, constructs, theoretical models for practical purposes individually and in social network. Studies will be started at 16th of January 2020.
The studies are conducted in English. Please note that you are not expected to have perfect English skills when you start your studies – your language skills will improve while doing the engineering studies. E-materials, e-services and e-learning environments are widely used in studies at Savonia. Therefore you should have a laptop of your own.
Tuition fee is 250 €/ year (12 months). Other possible costs include material and other costs.
Studying at Open University of Applied Sciences Studies is not full-time and therefore no student financial support will be granted to the student.
The enrolment period closes on 1 January 2020 at 23:59. Your enrolment is binding and studying places will be filled in the order of enrolment.
An invoice will be sent to your email address. By paying the invoice on the due date at the latest you confirm that you accept the study place. If you fail to pay in time, you lose your study place. In case you cancel your enrolment later or choose not to continue your studies, the fees you have paid are not returned to you. However, you can spend the fees on other Open Studies at Savonia UAS.
