Present with confidence using PowerPoint! In this training, you will learn how to use PowerPoint’s Presenter View and Teams’ PowerPoint Live features. You will also explore the key principles of building effective slide decks as well as the essentials of online presenting.
Goal
The goal is to learn to use PowerPoint’s features to skillfully deliver presentations both in location and online. You will also learn the main characteristics of a good presentation and the basics of presenting with Microsoft Teams.
Target audience
This training is intended for users who already know the basics of PowerPoint and want to develop their presentation skills and use the program efficiently when presenting. If you wish to review the basics first, you can do so in the training PowerPoint 1 – mastering the basics.
Software version
The training is carried out using the latest Microsoft 365 version of PowerPoint. For the most part, the skills learned are applicable to other commonly used versions of PowerPoint.

What makes a good presentation?
- Characteristics of a clear and well-structured slide deck
- Creating slides that are easy to follow
- Adding speaker notes for your own reference
- Staying on schedule and planning sufficient breaks
Presenting with slides
- Using Presenter View: slide navigation, drawing tools, and zoom functions
- Using subtitles and adjusting subtitle settings
Skillful online presenting
- Setting up Teams meeting options that work for presentations
- Sharing your presentation via window or screen sharing
- Presenting with the PowerPoint Live feature in Teams
Sharing materials
- Exporting to PDF and adjusting export settings
- Sharing materials with participants via OneDrive
