Alexander Stubb
Former Prime-, Finance- and Foreign Minister of Finland

Alexander Stubb served as Prime Minister, Finance Minister, Foreign Minister, Trade and Europe Minister of Finland between 2008 and 2016. His background is in academia and civil service, with a focus on EU affairs. He was a Member of the European Parliament from 2004 to 2008, a Member of Parliament from 2011 to 2017 and Chairman of the National Coalition Party from 2014 to 2016. He held the position of Vice-President of the European Investment Bank from 2017 to 2020.

He is also the non-executive Chairman of the Board of Crisis Management Initiative (CMI), founded by Nobel Peace laureate, President Martti Ahtisaari. Mr Stubb holds a PhD from the London School of Economics, has published 18 books and is a self-professed sports fanatic.

Andrew Smith
General Manager for Sweden and Denmark, Avis Budget Group
Andrew has been with Avis Budget Group since 2013, when he first joined as Director of Procurement in EMEA. Andrew was responsible for all procurement activity for the Group’s European operations, before setting up a global procurement team. In 2016, he became Director of Logistics, Supply Chain and Procurement with responsibility for European functions including Maintenance, Logistics and Security.
In 2018 he became the General Manager and Managing Director for Denmark and Sweden. Andrew regularly represents Avis Budget Group at industry events and believes that the future of mobility will be enhanced through industry-wide partnerships allowing travellers to be presented with a range of options for their journey. Prior to his time at Avis Budget Group, much of Andrew’s background has been in supply chain management and business transformation roles, where he held several senior management positions at organisations including the Royal Mail and the Unipart Group of Companies. Outside of work, Andrew is an avid traveller and enjoys exploring new places, particularly within Scandinavia.

I have a background within project management, change management and purchasing but not within the travel industry. My aim is to drive the travel program internally across business functions to make business travel safe, sustainable, cost efficient and easy for our organization. To change our behavior and reach a better compliant within our business travel, I work with a clear global travel strategy that can be divided into projects and addressed to my stakeholders. I also like to challenge our suppliers to look at things in different ways. To be innovative in our travel program I think we must live after - “There is always a better way”.

Fredrik Kämpfe 
Director Industry Affairs, Swedish Aviation Industry Group, Swedish Confederation of Transport Enterprises, Confederation of Swedish Enterprise (Svenskt Näringsliv), Swedish Aviation Industry Group

Fredrik, a Swedish national, worked for several years with the Swedish CAA, first as rulemaking officer, then legal adviser and finally manager for the legal office.
He joined EASA in September 2004 as the agency’s deputy chief legal adviser and took up the position as manager for the Agreements and External Representation Section in the International Cooperation Department in May 2016 where he stayed until February 2018.
Fredrik came back to Sweden in March 2018 to take up the position as Director Industry Affairs for the Swedish Aviation Industry Group which forms part of the Swedish Confederation of Transport Enterprises.
Fredrik has also a technical background with an upper secondary school degree in mechanical engineering and Military service as a Battalion Engineer with the Swedish Armed Forces.
Fredrik is a private pilot with over 400 flight hours as pilot in command and has worked several years at Stockholm Arlanda Airport for a ground handling company. He also maintains a bus driver’s license, diving certificate and is a licensed coastal skipper. Transport, he says, is part of his life.

Verena Funke

Verena Funke is the Country Director responsible for the business of the travel management company Egencia in Germany. At the same time, she holds the position of Senior Director EMEA Account Management. In this role, she is responsible for strategic customer care on a global level.
Funke has been with Egencia since 2010 and has held various key management positions. Most recently, she served as Interim Managing Director for the Asia-Pacific markets in Singapore for seven months in 2018. Former positions in the company included sales leadership as Sales Director and Director of Account Management and Implementation. In addition, she has traveled several stations in the travel industry, including. at the sister company GmbH as Head of Operations, at the travel agencies DER and ABR as a travel consultant and at LTU International Airways as a flight attendant.
