Travel and accommodation
All roads lead to Joensuu, well almost. You can reach the town:
- By air: A flight from Helsinki (HEL) to Joensuu takes about 1 hour. Schedules can be checked and flights booked through Finnair. The airport is Joensuu (JOE)
- By train (from Helsinki airport): The journey takes about 4.5 hours. Trains depart from the airport at ca. 10 minute intervals and you need to do only one change at Tikkurila station. The staff will speak english. The trains are operated by VR. For further information on the schedules and tickets, click here.
- Transportation to/from Joensuu airport : The conference hosts will organize a shuttle service between the airport and the city. Information on this will be updated here. Alternatively, you can also take a taxi. Taxis wait outside the terminal building. A single trip to the city costs about 25 € and the trip takes about 15 minutes. If there are no taxis available you can call the taxi dispatching office on the following number: +358 (0) 601 10100.

Joensuu is a compact city. All of the listed hotels are within a 5-10 minute walk from the conference venue and even a shorter walk away from the town centre.
If you have a bigger party and want something else than a hotel room, there are also a range of options available such as villas, cottages, camping grounds etc.One that is close to the conference venue and the city centre is:
Linnunlahti camping and cottages. Well equipped and comfortable cottages that accommodate up to six guests.
