LUPA HARRASTAA - Japanese language and culture

When: Tuesdays at 15.45-17.15.       September 8–December 1, 2026 (except Tue, Oct. 13). A total of 12 sessions.   
Where: Youth Culture Centre Monitoimitalo 13, Stage 2nd floor. The building has an elevator. 
For whom:  7.-9. grades
Description of the hobby: The group explores the Japanese language, culture, and media culture based on the participants’ interests. During the fall, topics covered will include Japanese traditions, popular culture (such as manga and anime), video games, and the language. The group also offers the opportunity to learn how to create comics and tell stories. The activities are designed to be accessible to everyone, and no prior knowledge or experience is required. The group is led by Susanna Määttä, a longtime Japan enthusiast.
Note! The group will be conducted in Finnish.
